Natural Products Expo Asia

ATO Guangzhou recruited 10 companies from South China to visit U.S. exhibitors at the 4th Natural Products Expo Asia, the premier sourcing show for the industry in Asia, held from November 30 to December 2 in Hong Kong. ATO Guanghou Director and Marketing Specialist attended the show and assisted the buyers team.   ATO booth responded to inquiries about U.S. products.  The majority of the inquiries were related to organic food products for the Hong Kong market, which testifies to the emerging demand of organic products in Hong Kong.  With regard to Mainland China, growing concern for food safety and health will expedite the demand for organic food among high-income consumers in the next few years, despite the fact that current consumption is quite low.  Mainland buyers also expressed strong interest in new, health supplements (e.g. anti-oxidants and pro-biotics) including vitamins and nutritional supplements

This FCS-endorsed show had about 200 exhibitors from the U.S., Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Chile, and the UK.  The U.S. pavilion, consisting of 30 exhibitors (seven involved in food and beverages), was the largest in the show, followed by Thailand, Korea and Malaysia. Products showcased in the show varied widely from anti-bacterial and personal care products, to food ingredients, functional drinks and pet food.
