Great American Food, Southern Style Event a Great Success

The American Food, Southern Style event took place on November 8, 2010 at The Strip Prime Steakhouse in Shanghai. Cosponsors of the event included ASMI, California Table Grape Commission, California Walnut Commission, USDEC, USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council, USMEF, USPB, SUSTA, Washington Apple Commission, and several American food and beverage distributors.  SUSTA-sponsored Chef Nora demonstrated several Cajun style recipes, while Miss Kat Tao of Enjoy Gourmet gave a presentation on western dining etiquette and tips on drinking and enjoying American wines.  After lunch, the 30 invited media representatives and journalists were divided into four groups for an American cooking competition. Four prizes were awarded and each team member took home a prize and gift basket of American food/beverage products. Two television crews were present to film parts of the day's events including International Channel Shanghai and Xin Min Evening News.
