Produce Marketing Association (PMA) mission accomplished

The PMA show served as an excellent platform for U.S. fruit professionals to exchange ideas and establish business relationships with South China fresh fruit buyers.  The delegation was composed of fruit importers and distributors as well as a key retailer in China who met with several key U.S. fruit exporters and packers prior to the Orlando show.  Packing house visits and cold storage warehouse management of table grapes, oranges, grapefruit, pomegranate, and tree fruits helped the team better understand U.S. fruit seasons and varieties.  Fruit retailer and wholesale market visits in California and Orlando helped the delegation understand how U.S. fruits are marketed.  Most importantly, members had productive talks with representatives from the U.S. fruit associations and encouraged them to conduct more promotional efforts in South China.  During the visit, the team met with representatives from the California Table Grape Commission (CTGC), Paramount Citrus management, and the California Strawberries Association.  ATO GZ will be following up with U.S. producer groups on upcoming promotions with retailers and traders marketing their product in the frontier markets.
