South China Aeon-Jusco American Food Festival kicked off in Shenzhen
ATO Director and cooperator representatives together with senior management from Aeon China attended the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially launch the American Food Festival in 16 Jusco outlets in Guangdong Province on June 26.  The ceremony featured a selection of performances by Chinese artists.  Jusco also prepared free tastings of Sunkist oranges, Red Delicious apples, California red wine and dried fruits for VIP guests and reporters. The promotion will last for two weeks. Around 250 SKUs of U.S. food items were centrally displayed in the main corridor with well decorated POP materials surrounding the areas.  The event successfully attracted the attention of shoppers and drew heavy traffic to shelves packed with U.S. food items.  New items such as Dutch Farm Cheese lured many local consumers to the counter.  According to the Aeon (China) General Manager, Southern consumers are eager to try new items. Meanwhile, the demand for U.S. beef is still unsatisfied. He estimated that the sales of U.S. food items would be five times greater if U.S. beef and U.S. meat items could be displayed on shelves.  A more detailed sales report will be developed in the coming weeks.
